HUDSON FALLS – Dale E. Harrington, Sr., 78, of Hudson Falls, went to be in the Arms of the Lord, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at his home, with his wife at his side.
Born on January 4, 1937, in the town of Kingsbury, he was the son of the late Walter and Gladys(Kingsley) Harrington.
Dale attended Hudson Falls High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17, on February 10, 1955. While in the Marines, he received the Navy Occupations Service medal, and do to the untimely death of his father, he was granted an early discharge in order to take care of his family,
On March 9, 1958, he married Carol Champaigne at the Fort Edward Baptist Church. He had multiple careers but retired from the Glens Falls City School District.
Dale was a member of the Gateway Church in Corinth, enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, Pro Wrestling, and because he learned mechanics from his father, he liked working on his cars. He could often be seen hanging around with his trucks.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Shaw, his sons Dale Harrington, Jr., and Anthony Harrington, his grandson Chad Harrington, two brothers, Gary and Jay Harrington and a niece, Tammy Hammond.
In addition to his wife 56 years, Carol Harrington, he is survived by his children, Glenn (Cheryl) Harrington, Kelly (Jeff) Manning and Scott (Heather) Harrington; his sisters, Patricia Cenate, Sherry Havens (Wayne) and Donna Bramer (Lloyd); his brother Nicholas (Linda) Harrington; his grandchildren, Eric McKinney, Richard McKinney, III, Jonathan McKinney, Sean McKinney, Monique Medsger, Tabetha Harrington, Brittney Embry, Glenn Harrington, Jr., Christopher Harrington, Kasey Manning, Aaron Manning, Kristi Manning, Cheri Manning, Joseph Manning, Matthew Manning, Brett Harrington, Tess Harrington, David LaPier, Joshua Harrington. Jeremy Harrington; his special very nephews, Michael and Timothy Hammond; and many beloved nieces and nephews and many great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A funeral will take place at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home with Pastor Wade Petteys of the Gateway Church in Corinth officiating.
Military honors will be provided by Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574.
