FORT EDWARD – Clara Bogardus, 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
Born in Westford on January 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ford and Hazel (Knapp) Clark.
On June 27, 1942, she married the love of her life, Clarence (John) Bogardus and together they raised their four children, sharing 61 years before his death in 2003.
Clara was employed for a short time at Chase Bag, formerly Arkell & Smith, but primarily spent her life caring for her family and home. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson Falls and enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, and traveling with her husband to horseshoe tournaments as far away as Canada, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.
Besides her parents and husband, Clara was predeceased by an infant son, Charles, and her beloved sister, Ruby Renwick.
Survivors include her four children, Carol Lundgren of Fort Edward, Evelyn Bishop and her husband, Larry of West Haven, VT, Clarence Bogardus, Jr., and his wife, Nora of Argyle, Harry Bogardus and his wife , Peg of Adamsville; 12 grandchildren, Norma McMurry, Ford Burch, Carol LaPoint, Lena Wilcox, Sheila Clarkson, Lynette Bedeaux, Susan Brooks, Stacy Bogardus, Michele Bogardus, Christopher Bogardus, Robert Bogardus, Barbara De Landri; 29 great grandchildren as well as 4 great-great grandchildren.
Friends and family may call 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Michael Plank, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson Falls, officiating.
Burial will be in Westford Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Clara was my Father’s, Albert Lorenzo Knapp, 1st cousin. I am sorry for your loss. I only remember this side of the family from the late 50’s and early 60’s at the Knapp family reunions held in Milford, NY. May God keep her in his hands.
