Brian Guy Whitney

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Brian Guy Whitney, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

Brian entered this world in the middle of the night on February 11, 1955, at the home of his parents located on Dublin Road in Granville.  His parents were the late Guy T. (Jack Whitney) and the late Antoinette J. (Frawley) Whitney. His aunt jessie (Bounds) Whitney of Granville and Doctor Elmo J. Hudson of Poultney, Vermont, assisted in the birth.

After the family moved to Fort Edward, Brian attended schools in Fort Edward and Hudson Falls.

Brian enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Coronado, as a boiler technician.

Brian, being a free willed individual, lived the life he wanted, holding various jobs, one being a salvage scuba diver and doing electrical and mechanical work.

He enjoyed scuba diving, sky diving and motorcycles.  Brian would often be seen riding around one of his motorcycles with his dachshunds, Dutchess.  He was a member of the Jury Motorcycle club and also enjoyed hunting big game, with his muzzleloaders.

Brian was disabled as a result of an accident in August of 1983, he resided at Wesley Health care Center until his passing.

Brian is survived by the “love of his life”, Theresa Rose of Fort Edward; his siblings, Richard E. (Shirley) Whitney of North Granville, Jacquelyn C. Jones of North Granville, Jocelyn C. Rainville of Glens falls and Judith (Barry) Ester of Conroe, Texas; and his several nieces, nephews and one aunty, Mary Ethel Frawley-Smith of Hudson Falls.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 1 to 5, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will be noon, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Wesley Center and to the doctors and nurses at Saratoga Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the charity of your choice.
