Bernard M. “Bernie” Dutcher, Jr.

FORT EDWARD – Bernard M. “Bernie” Dutcher, Jr., 59, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a long illness.

Born on November 2, 1964, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Bernard M. Dutcher, Sr. and Elizabeth (Blair) Dutcher.

Bernie attended Glens Falls City School.

For several years, he worked for ASI, and as a self-employed painter, carpenter and jack of all trades.  Prior to his illness, Bernie loved to tinker around his home. He kept busy building shelves, tables and a deck.  He really loved working with his hands.

In his younger days, Bernie enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of a local pool league.  He also loved country music and classic rock. Bernie will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and being meticulous about the work he cared about.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, John Dutcher.

Survivors include his two children, Suzanne Wilbur and Krystal Dutcher; his stepdaughter, Lydia Harris; several grandchildren; Krystals mother, Pamela Dutcher; his siblings, Melvin Dutcher, Gordon Dutcher and Michael Dutcher; his stepfather, Eugene James and his good friends, Phil and Colleen, Dave Webster, and Steve Hunt; his beloved puppy Dutchess; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial donations be sent to your local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter in Bernie’s name.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
