Bernard F. Swinton

QUEENSBURY – Bernard F. Swinton, 67, of Queensbury passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness.

Born on June 22, 1951 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Wyman and Margaret (Filson) Swinton.

He worked for many years at Six Flags doing various jobs. Bernie loved this job – it gave him the opportunity to meet with people he hadn’t seen in years.

He was a member of Memory on Wheels and Ace Car Club in Glens Falls. He was also a longstanding member of AA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Wallace Swinton, Richard Swinton and Harold Swinton.

Survivors include his longtime friends, Debbie Pecue and her husband Roy, Geraldine Eggleston, his brothers, Wyman “Bomber” Swinton, Lee Swinton and his wife Susan, Donald A. Swinton and his wife Nancy, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his beloved dogs, Elvis and Scooby Doo.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A graveside service will be held later in the spring at Southside Cemetery in the town of Moreau.

Memorial donations may be made to any animal focused charity of one’s choice.
