HUDSON FALLS – Arthur W. Havens, 79, of Preston Street, passed away peacefully, at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014.
Born on July 13, 1935 in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Roy and Pauline (Morency) Havens.
Arthur worked for the Hudson Falls Department of Public Works for 43 years and retired in 1997.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.
His favorite enjoyments were fishing and camping on Hadlock Pond with his family and walking the dogs.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Huestis and his brothers, Jerry and Robert Havens.
Survivors include his brothers, Roy Havens of Glens Falls, Alton Havens and his wife, Carol of Hudson Falls, Ronald Havens of Florida, Raymond Havens and his wife, Joann of Hudson Falls and James Havens and his wife, Linda of Queensbury; his sister, Joyce Gilligan of Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday, January 2, 2015, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral Services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, following the calling hours at funeral home.
The Rite of Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

I was saddened to see that Art had passed. He worked for my dad George Chadwick and with my brother Dave Chadwick for many years, I always remember my dad speak of Art with great affection. Art always did what ever was asked of him, no job was too menial. He always did his best in everything, and never complained about it. Dad had a great respect for that. Please accept my condolence for your loss.
