KINGSBURY – Albert Earl Brownell (Al, Albie), 83, of Kingsbury went to his eternal home on March 31, 2019, with his family by his side, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on May 1, 1935 in Fort Ann, he was the son of the late Alexander “Sandy” and Edith (Granger) Brownell.
On November 3, 1956 he married Sheila Barot in Hudson Falls at St. Paul’s Church.
Albert went to Fort Ann School and proudly graduated from New York State University.
Albert started as a farmer’s helper for Norman Hitchcock. He had successful careers at Ac Warner, Warner Pryne, North Country Woodworking and retired from Finch Pryne after 20 years.
Albert always loved to make people laugh with his great sense of humor. He was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He enjoyed family gatherings and reunions. Albert and Sheila belonged to the Adirondack Bluegrass League and Adirondack Fiddlers and enjoyed bluegrass festivals/ music as well as country music. In his younger years, he kicked up his heels at local square dances and was a proud member of the Carpenter Hose Volunteer Fire Department. Albert loved to keep a well-manicured yard and took great satisfaction in keeping his cars immaculate.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Sheila; his daughter, Mary Ann Brownell (Jamie Brown); his sisters, Rosella Beebe and Julia Bombard all of Hudson Falls; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Chuck Fuller; very special nephew, Harlis Brownell Jr. and cousin Jeffery and Irma Hamblin; and so many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Harlis Sr., Robert, Edward, Theodore and William and his sister Ora Bombard.
A small private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
A special thank you to Dr. Coppens and his nurse Patti for all the care through the last 6 months. Also the Glens Falls Hospital doctors and nurses in the ER and ICU for their warm and comforting care.

Dan & Donna Bombard
Thank you very much. It was nice to hear from you.
Mrs. Brownell and Mary,
I am sorry to learn of your loss. I’m grateful for Mr. Brownell’s patience with “putting up” with us girls, his time for many rides to Parry Street, and his work to turn his beautiful lawn into an ice rink. From his smiles, he had as much fun as we did.
Sending love and prayers both to you and family.

Kim, Thank you so much. Dad always enjoyed seeing us girls have so much fun. He was the best dad!
